Lloyd C. Pickett earned a Bachelor's degree in Agronomy in 1954, a Masters degree in Plant Pathology in 1957, and a Doctorate in Adult Education in 1963 from the University of Wyoming. He was an assistant and acting county extension agent in Wyoming from 1958-1960 and served as teacher certification officer for the Wyoming Department of Education in 1963-64.
